Finney posted during the height of the revivals. There is then a marginal docketing on the front panel in Finneys hand, though not signed. It is docketed as having been received from Rev. Alvan Ingersoll [in Finney's hande]. Ingersoll was a disciple of Finney and one of the many revivalists to go out from Finney's ministry. Their relationship was close enough that Alvan named his first child,
