Apparently looted as spoils of war by Reuben King Tanquary [1838 1908] of Company K in the 34th Indiana Infantry after the Battle at Jackson as part of the Vicksburg Campaign in 1863. Inscribed in faint sepia ink on the ffep, then transcribed in a later hand on the fly leaf. Also includes an interesting little tract,
